| I've returned home from France upon my fathers wishes. He says that with an impending war with France it is not safe for an English girl to remain in Paris. I will miss the court and Queen Claude. I will miss being the most intelligent and witty girl at court, I will be overshadowed by my sister now.
I am to spend the rest of this week at Hever before I go to serve Queen Katherine at court. I shall be happy to see my sister Mary, I haven't seen her since she left France, although I must admit we are not very close. Father has married her off to some courtier name William Carey. Father also tells me that she has gained the favor of the King, she gained the favor of King Francis in France and now she has King Henry.
I've discussed the matter with my father many times, Mary is younger yet she is married first! Father told me he was waiting for me to make a good match in France. I am glad that I am not close to my family, they only see that I am just a girl, and a girl that isn't as pretty as Mary.
I hold hopes for finding a match at court.
